The Improvement of Students’ Understanding in Spring Energy Concept through Constructivisme Model of Learning
in Grade XI MIPA 1 SMAN 1 Parung In the First Semsteron 2018/2019 School year
Search was aimed to improve the students understanding on the spring energy concept throughconstructivism model of learning. The desain of the research was an action research satrted from planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. After a cycle was completed,the reasearcher made a reflective overview and followed by a following cycle with some improvement actions. The action research was conducted in three cysles. The subject of the research was the students in Grade XI MIPA 1 SMAN 1 Parung. The calss was choosen because it has the lowest ability in formulating and testing hypothesis. There were only five out of thirty five studentshas acvieved 70% ability in the skill. It means that only 17 % of the students passed the minimum kriteria. The aspect measured in the research is the ability of the students’ in understanding the spring energy with 70% acvievement in passing the minimum criteria and 80%of the classical acviement. The average performance result form the three cycles were (1) 67,43; (2) 70,97; (3) 73,51;. After the test on spring enegry in the three consecutive cycles,the average score gained were 70%, 75%,and 83%. The result of the research shows that the scientific process approach with practicum method can improve the students’ ability in understanding the concept of spring energy.
